Puppy acquisition.
If the purchase of a puppy is planned and you want to take a purebred puppy from the breeder,
then you must collect it beforehand in order to get more information, you need to get acquainted with the description of the desired variety that you want to buy, you need to find out everything
possible characteristics and character traits of the breed, the most common diseases for this breed with which you could face after buying a puppy.
Questions to ask the owner of the puppy:
– What it eats. For the first time, it is better to take the usual food from the owners of the puppy.
– Has the baby been treated for fleas and worms.
– Have vaccinations been carried out.
– Is he toilet trained, what diaper does he prefer.
– What time does the puppy go to sleep, what time does it wake up.
Taking care of a puppy is not an easy task.
The puppy will need a lot of your attention, care, and concerngreat patience.
In this regard, it would be desirable to take the baby to a new home during the owner’s holidays, a person permanently would be with the puppy, because the dog needs to get used to the new home.
The safety of the baby must be monitored, because you must always remember that you can accidentally push him into the door or step on his tail, be extremely careful.
In the first days after purchase, the baby may be fussy, this is normal behavior for a dog in unusual circumstances conditions with new owners and away from the mother. You have to be patient, after a few days a puppy will calm down. You also need to decide in advance where the puppy will eat, where it will sleep and where it will go to settle down.
Puppy in new home:
Take a toy or a diaper from the previous owners, the smell will help the baby settle in the new home.
Feed the puppy as usual and at bedtime, but in moderation and regular food so as not to disturb him
gas and discomfort from overeating.
In the first months of life, puppies sleep a lot – this is normal. Do not wake the dog or disturb without
needs, it can have a negative effect on the psyche.
If the baby sleeps a lot, but is active during the waking period, plays, eats well and goes to relieve himself, thenthere is no reason to worry.
– Moving to a new home, separation from mother, brothers and sisters is stressful for a puppy. The younger
dog, the harder it is to overcome stress. Be patient, be tactful. Don’t rush into games and activities
do not catch the puppy, do not carry it in your arms. The baby needs time to get used to you, he to you
will show you when you want attention.
– Do not feed or punish your puppy. The dog does not understand screams, physical violence is not allowed.
Explain everything with short commands: “Yes” (paddle, pat), “No”, “Fu”. If the puppy starts chewing
shoes, take them off and pay attention to the toys.
– If you notice a puddle in an inappropriate place, wipe it with a disposable cloth, place it in a suitable place
place and let your pet poop on it. Over time, the dog will learn to understand you perfectly, but before that
you have to be patient and work on both yourself and your pet
– Monitor the general condition of the puppy. Is there no vomiting, liquid stools, lethargy, appetite
diminishing. In such cases, a veterinarian should be consulted.
